Why am I suddenly getting so many spam emails on outlook.com from an apparent AI bot?

In the past 2 hours alone, I have received at least a dozen spam emails written in random words. For example “isnt a said tone Then it level in very he possible 54 u443 hkother” They are coming from apparent one-off gmail, live, hotmail, and other accounts. And the so-called junk filters are catching NONE of them. I get most of my email on mobile devices, so I’m not using the desktop Outlook app, and thus I can’t adjust the level of spam filtering. To be honest, I pay for Microsoft 365 and I find it ridiculous that (A) the default outlook.com spam filters are not catching them, and (B) I can’t adjust the spam filter so it does catch them. Microsoft, quit dinking around with AI on Bing and put it to work in your own spam filters!

I normally don't do something like this, but... OUTLOOK.COM IS BECOMING USELESS!!!!!

I had a similar problem on Gmail two weeks ago, and it cleared up after two days because the Gmail filters caught on. I just now had to report TWENTY emails on outlook.com, and yet THEY ARE STILL COMING!!!!

    DO SOMETHING NOW!!!!

I too have also been getting these seemingly randomly-generated emails for the past three days, none of it getting processed through my junk folder. Every single email I've marked as junk/spam but they still keep coming. Hopefully Microsoft can fix this soon.

I’ve been having this since Monday. Started as about 6-10. I now get them every 3 minutes. I am reporting all as phishing and nothing is happening, it’s just getting worse. Considering closing my email account which will be a real pain as I’ve had it since 2007.

A simple way to resolve this problem would be to allow an email extension

/no hawkers to make it an offence to send unwanted email and an atomic fines for offending and suspending them till they pay fine
