My desktop outlook app will not open

Passwords are finicky! I am just a normal user, like you, so I don't know your familiarity with computers and passwords. Here are some basic issues that can cause problems with passwords:

1. Make sure that the Caps Lock is off.
2. Passwords are case-sensitive. So, use capital letters only where required. For a computer, PASSWORD is not the same as Password.
3. Make sure that you don't insert spaces where not needed. (And do insert spaces if needed.) For example, "Pass word" is not the same as "Password".
4. If you can't get the Outlook app to open on your computer, you might try to use "Hotmail.com" in your internet browser. But it will require your email address and password, too.
5. If all else fails, Microsoft usually includes a "Forgot Password?" button. If you click on that, it will try to help you change your password. That might help in your case. However, they may send you an email to verify your request to change your password.
6. Your last resort is to call Microsoft Help directly.

Microsoft Outlook Is asking for password I entered it still will not open

I am using New Outlook version 1.2024.717.400 (Production). I still have the problem where I click on the Outlook Icon and Outlook does not start. But I have been able to work around it as follows:

1. Right-click on the Outlook icon.
2. Click on "Open Calendar".
3. When the Outlook Calendar comes up, then click on the "Mail" button at the top left corner of the app window. Magically, Outlook Mail opens up

A useless waste of my time. I did all of the steps you gave, and my outlook desktop still fails to open. Thanks for nothing.
