Hi. Last night when I was using my Outlook mail it suddenly created two new files, e.g. OwaFV15.1ALLFocused etc. It then seemed to put my last few months emails into these folders (one being the replacement for 'focused' and the other one for 'other'. Looking online I can see a brief question/discussion about this in the last few hours so I assume this is a new problem. How do I stop this happening, and why did it happen? Is it sinister? Any help gratefully received, thank you!

I might have found the way to put emails back to Inbox. Go to your settings and try to check/uncheck the Focused Inbox (Sort messages into focused and Other)
It may take a while depending on the number of emails you have.
There was a service change to fix the issue. I was originally reproducing it on Windows Mail app but it has since been mitigated there. The guidance I saw about this was to update Mac Outlook to the latest build is supposed to mitigate it, Update Office for Mac automatically - Microsoft Support. If you are able to do that and still repro, please share what build you are on, and I will share it back to the Outlook Team.
I just deleted all my mail thinking it was some kind of virus that made a copy of my mail this is bs I'm so pissed right now
