I'm not seeing the "Read Aloud" option on the "New" version of Outlook. It's not under accessibility settings like the "old" Outlook. Seems like this feature was overlooked.

I am visually impaired and one feature that made me choose Microsoft Outlook over Apple Mail was the Read Aloud function, primarily the "Play Email Conversation" on my iPhone and iPad. If the read-aloud is not reinstated I am abandoning Microsoft and I know many people taking the same route. What a childish upgrade strategy from Microsoft.
Agreeing with previous comments. The immersive reader is not the same as what has historically been available in Outlook to have a draft or received message read aloud. Lots of good edits can occur on an email draft once you've heard it read aloud. This is a huge miss and has been a pain point for me while using the New Outlook over the past months. Legacy Outlook icon, here I come again. Looking forward to the alert for when someone announces the functionality is back in effect.

The read-aloud functionality in Word 365 has been improved and the voice quality is excellent. I hope that MS can break down the silos and port that functionality from Word into Outlook. Until then, I guess I will continue copy and pasting my drafts into word, then back into Outline.
Agreed - I would really like the old option of reading aloud in draft mode. It worked perfectly before.
Dear Microsoft,
I feel you decision to remove the read aloud function had impacted by disability and I would highly recommend that this function is reinstated in its full capacity as was in the previous version.
Turning this accessibility function should not take delay as it hinders our ability and is not considered as a inclusive platform.
