Hi Arquel C. I'm using a Microsoft Surface device, Windows 11 and the new Outlook application. I am unable to open the new Outlook application when I have no internet access. I receive an error message indicating that I must close the error window and access the Internet in order to open Outlook. This is all occurring despite the fact that my Outlook app is configured to work offline. I've turned the "work offline" configuration on, off, and on again several times but with no luck. Very troubling given that the classic Outlook will be fully decommissioned at some point soon.

    Hello Rimma,

Thank you for posting here in Microsoft Community.

To answer your question, here's how to switch from working offline to working online in Outlook, please follow these steps:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on the "Send/Receive" tab in the top menu.
    3. Look for the "Work Offline" button in the "Preferences" section.
    4. If the button is highlighted, click on it to turn off the "Work Offline" mode.
    5. Once you have turned off the "Work Offline" mode, Outlook will start to synchronize with the server and you will be able to send and receive emails.
