I am having issue that Yahoo emails are not reaching recipients. I am getting an error message but after 24hrs not even straight after. It's only come to my attention because in follow up calls, they are telling me that the emails never arrived..

Please advise me how to sort it out as is very important I can reach those yahoo recipients.

Your message couldn't be delivered. Despite repeated attempts to contact the recipient's email system it didn't respond.

Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system isn't accepting connection requests from your email system. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

    You can't post email address. I can help you here and it's free. One thing to note is your DMARC policy is set to reject (p=reject). We would normally want to monitor it first (p=none). We can step it up later with p=quarantine or reject at the final step. You should be ok without enabling DKIM.

    SPF and DKIM are required if you are a bulk sender https://senders.yahooinc.com/best-practices/?guccounter=1

    If you must create DKIM records, add 2 new CNAME records with the following entry:

    Record type: CNAME

    Name: selector1._domainkey

    Value: selector1-goldenstring-com._domainkey.goldenstring.onmicrosoft.com

    Record type: CNAME

    Name: selector2._domainkey

    Value: selector2-goldenstring-com._domainkey.goldenstring.onmicrosoft.com

    and go to this address to enable DKIM signing https://security.microsoft.com/authentication?viewid=DKIM (I have onmicrosoft.com as my default signing domain)

    Many thanks to Kevin. I was getting rejects from Yahoo and I found his DKIM post from page 4 and it resolved the issue--emails are going through now!

    But question for him, Ron, Theo, and any of you other admin types...

    I checked with easydmarc and I have SPF set up, but I do *NOT* have DMARC set up. Do I need it? Note: I am not a bulk sender. This is my personal email account (I just happen to have bought my last name as my domain name).

    The instructions for DMARC recommend an iterative test process and monitoring results as you go... The only person I know with a Yahoo email is someone I'd prefer not to use as a test subject unless absolutely necessary.

    I would still create all of them, SPF, DMARC and DKIM if I were you. Start with p=none and review your DMARC reports. You can increase the policy to p=quarantine and finally p=reject at some point.

    Thanks. And upon more reading, I realized I don't need to treat the Yahoo recipient as a "guinea pig" sending a bunch of test messages and asking for results. I just need to review the DMARC reports that will be automatically emailed to me.
