I've switched to the new version of Outlook but autocorrect isn't on and I can't work out how to turn it on. There is no 'file' option in the new version of Outlook which is where it used to be in previous versions.

I'd like to retract my thank you thank you.
I've been able to correct so at least the first word of a sentence is auto corrected, but nothing else.
    i remains i
    london remains london

While you can add stuff to the dictionary you can't actually build custom words like cihr (CIHR) etc.
and if the editor must be on to show corrections needed, why isn't it on by default?

crazy and i've spent too much time on this today

but here you can't make your 'own' auto correct rules like

    example:

ad1 ---> I'd like to thank you for your message...

    Dearest Microsoft,

    Please get your **** together.

Whoever is responsible for changing the autocorrect feature needs to be fired--from a cannon into the sun.

did you not read the note? You are new to Outlook, so here is how it has been working since the mid 1850s:

Open a new message for to compose.

As you type, Outlook thoughtfully autocorrects based on Office autocorrect definitions.

So if you were to misspell a word or type in an autocorrect shortcut of your own definition, it would "auto correct" for you!

    Lovely!

    1. Why are you addressing an issue that was not asked about?
    2. Fix the damn autocorrect.

    Please.

I fully agree, this seems to be a complete oversight by Microsoft. Annoyingly, I am forced to use the new Outlook for some shared mailboxes, and it just makes zero sense for Microsoft to have removed this feature, deliberately or in error.

Although it seems to have improved my typing accuracy through much forced training 😅
