How to alter future meetings without changing the past events in a series of repeated meetings?

Example:

  1. I have a meeting set up to repeat every Monday at 9 AM from 1st January 2023.
  2. Assume today is the 1st of November, and I want to move all the recurring meetings to Tuesday.
  3. Outlook allows me to change the current event or all the events in the series.
  4. Single-event change is OK.
  5. But if I have to change all future events, I have to select "Edit" >> "All events in the Series."
  6. This option not only changes future but all the past events as well.

How can I ensure that only future events are updated (to Tuesday 9 AM) and I still have the entries of all past events in the calendar (as Monday 9 AM).

Update: I'd like you to know that this is now fixed.

If you open a recurring event and then click the edit button at the bottom left corner of the event window, it allows you to edit "This and all following events" ****

    Thank you for mentioning this! This worked for me. I normally use the desktop version, but I was able to change this and future events using the web version of Outlook.

    I'm on the desktop version of outlook - I'm hoping this can be added. I was so excited to find what I thought was the solution but it turned out to be available only in MS Teams. :(

    AND - as a recipient of the meeting I'd like to be able to to keep historic events even if the organizer deletes them (as people often do rather than simply ending one series and starting the next, etc.).

    Can this be done on downloaded app versions, or does it have to be web based? On my PC apps (Outlook or Teams), I am still not seeing the option for "this and following events".

    It doesn't look like it's made it's way into the apps yet. It works for me on OWA, but not in Teams or in Outlook desktop.

    I have PC, not MAC, with Microsoft 365 (Office) and as of today still do not have the option from within Outlook email/calendar or from Teams Calendar to select Edit for "this and all following events". I only have Edit Occurrence or Edit Series.

    Are you using https://outlook.office365.com/?

    It works for my O365 hosted outlook.
