How to alter future meetings without changing the past events in a series of repeated meetings?

Example:

  1. I have a meeting set up to repeat every Monday at 9 AM from 1st January 2023.
  2. Assume today is the 1st of November, and I want to move all the recurring meetings to Tuesday.
  3. Outlook allows me to change the current event or all the events in the series.
  4. Single-event change is OK.
  5. But if I have to change all future events, I have to select "Edit" >> "All events in the Series."
  6. This option not only changes future but all the past events as well.

How can I ensure that only future events are updated (to Tuesday 9 AM) and I still have the entries of all past events in the calendar (as Monday 9 AM).

Update: I'd like you to know that this is now fixed.

If you open a recurring event and then click the edit button at the bottom left corner of the event window, it allows you to edit "This and all following events" ****

    Hi Alex,

    Thank you for your reply.

    In the outlook calendar, when I double-click and open the event, it gives me two options as

    1. This event
    2. All events in the series

    I do not see any option as "Edit" >> "Open Occurrence"

    And besides, the steps 2-6 repeats is what I want to avoid. A single change that should apply to all future events and not the past events.

    I hope that make sense.

    Good Afternoon,

    Are there any plans to change this? When I cancel each occurrence, it sends a notification to the participants. This is most undesirable when canceling 10 occurrences.

    I am able to do this using the web interface, but NOT the Outlook application.

    Glad that it was fixed in the web interface, but most of us use the desktop application for our day-to-day work. Will this fix ever be applied to the desktop application? This is sorely needed.

    The steps listed above will not work. Upon completing Step 3 user is prompted to "Open Entire Series" and you are right back to losing all history if you proceed.
