Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Background to this: I had transferred my Office 365 account to my new Surface pro 11. New outlook version send/receive emails did not work correctly. There were no settings I could check the settings like the previous version. So I called Microsoft who first of all re-installed all of Office with the 'new'Outlook, but this still did not send emails. The eprson assured me this would fix the problem (for which they had no idea why it had failed). The second call to Microsoft (more knowledgeable person) still could not fix this and resulted in them uninstalling/reinstalling Office 365, but this time installing classic Outlook, setting up the IMAP and SMTP, and then Outlook worked perfectly. The M/S person agreed with me the new version was not as comprehensvie as the previous one, I think M/S have gone too far by stripping out lots of necassary parts and assuming this what people actually wanted. So much for giving us all the option to keep with the older version. I don't think M/S fully validated the install process before issuing it - ironic it didn't work on one of their own new laptops!
