Message Body Font in Outlook Suddenly Small

Yesterday my Outlook updated to a new version. The text of the message body is so small it is useless in the preview pane. The subject line font is huge while the message body font is tiny. What do I have to do to make the fonts the same size? I have tried accessibility text font changes that make it worse. I tried large, medium and small in outlook and it has no effect on the message body font. Preview pane image included. Thank you for your support. I have Windows 11.

Regards,

Tim

    Hi All!

I stumbled upon the solution by pure happenstance ... it's so dumb!

If you open any email in a separate pane (by double-clicking it), you'll notice that pane has an independent zoom button at the top of the new window:

This zoom button will also change the zoom of your email in the normal reading pane. Somehow mine was set to like 60%, which is why all the text was super tiny. What a dumb setting! No way to change it anywhere else, as far as I can tell 🤦‍♀️

    Hopefully this helps someone!

    Thank you!!!!

The solution we've all been looking for!! WooHoo!!

Yes, that solve it...thanks so much for posting.

    More information:

The problem occurs (at least for me) via the less-than-helpful shortcut "ctrl + scroll", when reading/composing an e-mail- this is what made the text so small in the first place (inadvertently pressing ctrl while scrolling).

In order to "fix" it, as the helpful post mentions, you need to open an existing e-mail in a separate window...not the reading pane nor a new/compose pane (double-clicking an email in the list does it for me). Then you will have the "Zoom" button in the ribbon, which allows you to reset to 100%.

Or, I suppose, you could also hold down "ctrl" again and scroll with the mouse/trackpad up/down to change the Zoom back...but after getting burned I personally don't want to touch that again!

(Microsoft- there are so many UI issues going on here; I would suggest someone take a look this whole process!)

I had the same problem. I deleted the Microsoft App on my Mac, then downloaded and installed from my Office 365 account. Voilà! Problem solved and a new version on top of it.
