The new update on OUTLOOK mail, is terrible

Did the product team at Microsoft Outlook have a fight with anyone? Maybe the UI team?

Is this design a payback from the UI team for something?

This can't be something accepted by the product manager, QA and other stakeholders..

This is the single most horrible piece of design i've seen in a very VERY long time, and i'm a Operations guy, with multiple products in hand on my organization.

Just don't.. Serioulsy.

You release this as mandatory and i'm (along with countless others) uninstalling Outlook and changing to another email client.

The design of the new Outlook 365 is a horror on par with one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse approaching full speed.

It heralds the end of e-mail as a manageable useful tool in the business and foreshadows the outcry of millions of users unable to get their work done seconded by a deep unforgiving sigh uttered by masses of it supporters resigning their fate to the inevitable role of IT shrinks "we understand but what can we do? What can anyone do?".

Microsoft spends time and money redesigning interfaces for applications that have been standardized over 3 decades. That is perhaps the most idiotic thing ever. As if this will "glow up" e-mail for Zoomers to "find it lit". They wont because it is not. Its a big L. Big Yikes and Microsoft needs to take several seats and let this go.

At the same time the major part of the work force and especially those using a lot of e-mail do not have the capacity nor desire to learn something that basic over again.

As I see it the strategy here is to kill e-mail by making it useless and too cumbersome in favor of Teams. That must be it. It would never happen if there was real competition in clients connecting to Exchange. Because if that was the case, Microsoft would just have lost the part of their user base who understand how to switch clients. The rest would be damned to reside in Outlook Disneyland where functionality has been removed to make room for clunky less informative UI.

I can barely use it, I have the CIO reporting to me in my company and I am asking for alternatives until MS fixes this train crash. I cannot find any of the features I was using:

• We are an international company and to find the language settings to change the proof reading language is a sub menu of the editor settings menu. We work in four languages, that inconvenience alone renders outlook near unusable
• I can't see how to force send/receive
• I cannot find how to force a clean up of the account cache or logout to test whether a recent password reset worked
• The sorting function of the inbox, by far my most used feature, is now in a sub menu under filters; I use that tens of times per day and it is much more inconvenient now
• The save draft option is so far right that I have to push "more" to find it, are you serious? Encouraging people to not save draft and risk losing their work, nice!
• In return I feel like I am force fed features of little use such as: add-ins, viva insights and loop components in every screen

The more I use the new version the less I like it.

Absolutely horrendous.

Most of the useful functionality has gone and plagued with bugs as well.
If our company were to ship "upgrades" this bad to our customers, we would be out of business in no time.

Pretty Terrible. Looks like some man child who got fired from GMAIL designed this steaming pile. This is good if you are into glitter lipstick, k-pop, and tik tocking with all your man bun sister jean wearing high on stupidity friends. This in no way looks, acts, or feels like a business or enterprise class software platform.

You removed access to many useable features. You screwed up the like a drunken twelve year old in a biker bar. You didn't listen to your customer base and just yelled "Hold My Beer!" when you released this junk.

Face it Microsoft. This is worse than the Chocolate Brown Zune.

Oh wait, NVM. I get it. You fired all the developers except one and I assume they used ChatGPT to do the coding while the developer worked on their highest score on Mario Cart.

This is so bad you should fire the developers and then get their family members fired from whatever jobs they have to. Reminds me of the Bud Light Marketing Team.
