The new update on OUTLOOK mail, is terrible

After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated.
I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere.

  • The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people.

It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

I have found the new Outlook impossible! I toggled back to classic Outlook and the next day my computer would open only the new Outlook. It is causing me enormou problems of many kinds. How can I go back to classic Outlook?

Hi, Have you tried to uninstall the new Outlook?

It should appear as a separate app from the old one.

It is the same tech behind Outlook for MacOS. It is simply disguised better. This is one of those unicorn moments when MacOS implementation seems a little smoother than Windows but don’t be fooled. It’s Outlook.com for both platforms. There is still some code updates on the way for the Windows version which will address some of the concerns.

But even if all of the feature set were present on Windows. Like all Outlook365 features were there it is still not a native application. That’s the problem. It also makes this a non-client software. It doesn’t keep server settings to go direct to the email provider to retrieve your email. It keeps your email login information and Microsoft servers retrieve the data and parse it to this email application using MST (Microsoft Sync Technology). It is a privacy nightmare.

It is HORRIBLE! You can't add shared folders to Favorites. Context menus are practically non-existent. It's just a wrapper for the website and it SUCKS!

This works on new Outlook for Mac.

    Hi,

I agree with most of you: the "new" Outlook is terrible!

But take care: if you intend to use Copilot, the new AI assistant, then the new Outlook is a prerequisite: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-copilot/microsoft-365-copilot-requirements#prerequisites

    Regards,
