Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I saw a statement that certainly sounded like the current Outkook version was going to be phased out. And, on my wife’s Mac every few weeks it switches to the new Outlook without her permission, at which point she can’t access her non-MS IMAP preferred email account. I have to then help her to revert back to the old version, and all her email accounts then “magically” reappear. This is certainly coercive to say the least.
And, even if you can technically keep the old, now unsupported version, MS will most likely make it very hard not to use their preferred program. Do you remember the law suits when they made it very hard to use any browser other than IE?
The Vista example you cite is a rare instance when they openly admitted a mistake. Hopefully that will occur in this case, but the odds appear to be against it.
