After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated. I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere. The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people. It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

To be fair that shouldn’t have happened. This is a hybrid form of Outlook.com in a React Native wrapper. It shouldn’t use the amount of resources say that Teams would use. That said, I don’t think there’s any degree of shame. I think the perception is that people want consistency. And it’s not consistency of features across platforms. They believe we want consistency with the web app, across all other platforms. I think the perception is that the vast majority of people using email in the corporate environment are okay with the basics. And if they can get most of the major WinClient features, no one will notice or care that attachment previews, MIME handling, downloads, etc. will behave and operate in the web interface type of way. I think that for a while we are done with grown ups in the development space. Web code is the simplest, lowest common denominator, and that must be what everyone wants. So the youngans will make the kiddie webcode and shove it in app wrappers and the perception is honestly that those of us b*tching here, are a small minority. From the perspective of developers, even large corporate types like mice, believe that the grown up world of professionals have moved on from native, full fledged, desktop grade applications. That’s reserved for us few ancient fossils while the 20 something’s have moved on to smartphones, tablets, and browsers. Webcode isn’t just for making cross platform apps for mom and pops shops who can’t afford it, now it’s acceptable to do the same at the big boys and continue to charge us real money for it. They’ll add AI and someone Copilot will be the value add that’ll make you pay more for your license/subscription. No shame. None at all. This is completely justified in their view. I guarantee it. I’m sure some hotshot even took a poll. Why bother to make good, native code, when folks will pay for garbage? And what choice do we have in the enterprise space? Your corporate IT won’t walk away from this garbage. I know I work in IT. No one’s going to drop this mess despite the complaints we’ve already had from users who got an unplanned “upgrade” to New Outlook.

This is the worst app update I have ever installed from Microsoft. It was so slow I just left my PC until the following morning. When I returned there was a prompt to be answered before it would continue, fine, but why is this program consuming 100% of my CPU and heavily accessing my disk waiting for a response all night? I thought the goal was supposed to consolidate all these features into one uniform app. Why does Microsoft keep creating more email clients that work differently. Email is a decades old legacy app that they still can't get right, who are the morons writing this junk? Aren't you embarrassed that you got paid for this garbage?

I can't agree more. This most recent update SUCKS! The search function does not work at all. My messages won't fully download so I can't reply. I am VERY frustrated with this most recent update!

Thanks for this Robert. I can now un install this horrible update. I held off for as long as possible but now MS have made it mandatory I'm off.
