Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I just tried "new outlook" and its terrible! I am a Technology Consultant, former CTO in a variety of organizations, so I am not against change. I love what Microsoft generally does with their collaboration and productivity suite and embrace most of their changes.
But this "New Outlook" I tried on April 26, 2023 is an abomination. Who is it for? Definitely not for power users. I welcome simplification and logical re-organization of the interface, but not removal of a lot of valuable functionality.
This product is so terrible - I am at a loss where to even begin...
- Task Pane: it used to combine Clanedar, agenda, and Tasks. I could see everything at a glance. Now tasks are separated into a different tab you need to click on to view. Seriously? Bring them back, so they are always visible!
- Where did the QuickParts go? They are critical for speeding up repeating email content.
- Where did the QuickAccess toolbar go?
- Where is the ribbon customization capability? The new customization tool looks like a sad joke.
- Where did the custom flags and reminders go?
- How can I created an MS Teams meeting with a single click?
- etc etc...
This a kids toy, not a productivity tool for professionals. Please do not force us to upgrade to this nonsense.
