We went with this solution, although slightly modified.

We put in a GPO to have the file server's FQDN in those settings. However, instead of putting it in Trusted sites, we put it in Local Intranet.

    This works as well.

This has seemingly fixed, or at least worked around the issue for us.

im not to sure there is a temp solution with out breaking up your existing update solutions, i've removed the updates that caused the issues , but they will then re-install , and if your patching to a security level your then non-compliant , moving office back to a previous version isn't practical across 100's pc's within a company , and again you'll need to amend your update policies to not apply the latest release of office ,

MS really need to get a fix in place for this

the only particle way to work around is to copy the link to run ad open from there ,this works fine

looks like its users that are on version 2305

    Image

we get the notification below :

    Image

if you try the new version of outlook, you get a security pop up

    Image

we have a cpl of users not updated and they are ok

    Image

and i don't think there is a way to roll back the office install version

Just started for me, getting this on Version 2307 checked some older versions and it's not an issue.

Work around is to send the links from Outlook web.

Hopefully a solution is found quickly.
