Outlook error "Something unexpected went wrong with this url"

Hyper links wont open and I get the error message.

    internet option > security > trusted site >

    add site or ip address

    the fix is couple comments above you and you can use GPO to deploy across your company

    yeah we use DFS across multiple fileservers so adding all the entries in isn't going to work , we also use a a piece of software that can create links and send in email , this doesn't use the IP address of the server , its pulls the info direct from the namespace etc..

    C'mon MS where's the fix for this ?

    if you link the namespace URL \abc.local\Work Files to a word in a new message in Outlook then it will give the error message.

    but if you use the the server name instead \abc-fileserver-1\Work Files the link will open and you will get a warning popup.

    Not sure why it doesn't like the published namespace anymore

    We didn't use the IP address no, just the FQDN name of the server.
