Is anyone else finding this so with Outlook 2016..there was NEVER a need in order to continue to have Outlook 2016 Fetch\Send Gmail emails...without setting up 2 Step Verification\Less Secure App 16 Digit Password.

Outlook 2016 and all later versions are no longer "Less Secure" to Gmail, so they'll continue to work. I would still advise enabling 2-Step Authentication, it is simply a much more secure way to do email.

    I did activate 2 Step\Less secure app....

I did so because as I recall I got a Notification from Google that after 5/30/22 if I did not setup 2 step\Less secure app Outlook 2016 would no longer fetch\Send gmail messages. Just courious, that Notification came to me 5 to 6 weeks before the 5/30/22 deadline....so did Google or Microsoft make changes in that period that cleared Outlook 2016 from having to Make the Change? Thanks

Outlook 2016 has been OK for the last year or so, I don't believe it was when it was first introduced, but I'm not sure of that. Folks that have kept Outlook 2016 updated should have no issues. Google has been threatening to remove the "Less Secure" switch for some time now and they finally decided to do so.

I was unable to login today with:

    Microsoft® Outlook® 2021 MSO (Version 2205 Build 16.0.15225.20172) 64-bit

    on:

    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Version 21H2
    Installed on ‎8/‎7/‎2021
    OS build 19044.1706
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0

Generating the App Password resolved the issue.

    Thank you.
