Outlook 2016 will not take gmail after end of May 2022

Google advises that gmail will not work in Outlook 2016 after 30 May 2022. how do i change from outlook 2016 to outlook 2019 within my current 365 subscription?

    After deleting the @gmail app password and trying again, it worked. however since the emails had not been deleting from google for years, i needed to plow through and delete over 4K old emails going back years.

    App Passwords are single use, single client. If you have a Gmail POP account and want to add it to two different Outlook instances, you will need to generate two different App Passwords, one for each Outlook. IOW, if you have Outlook 2016 on one machine and Outlook 2021 on a different machine, and you want to add a single Gmail POP account to each, you'll need two different App Passwords, one for each Outlook instance.
