How do I get my Outlook mail working again if I cannot generate a new password. I accidently added a folder under the inbox and when I tried to delete I could not. I then lost connection to AOL and could not connect to pull my email. I went to generate a password but I keep getting this feature not available right now.
How can I get my Outlook to pull my email from AOL again?

I had this same problem using AOL POP with Outlook. I'm not 100% sure my issue was triggered the same way but the effect was the same. I contacted AOL tech support and they certainly knew of the problem and said in would be "fixed" in 2 days. This may be something like a 24 hour security lock following multiple failed sign in attempts that Unix once used.
Having two-factor authentication is also involved somehow. This is a quote from AOL on the subject "Some older, third-party email apps (that do not use our AOL-branded sign in page) require you to enter a single password for login credentials. If you've activated 2-step verification for your AOL account, you'll need to generate and use an "app password" to access AOL Mail from these apps. "
I knew 2A had something to do with it.
THANK YOU! 👍
Thank you

I've had this error since 2022.
