AOL Generate password Sorry, this feature is not available right now!

How do I get my Outlook mail working again if I cannot generate a new password. I accidently added a folder under the inbox and when I tried to delete I could not. I then lost connection to AOL and could not connect to pull my email. I went to generate a password but I keep getting this feature not available right now.

How can I get my Outlook to pull my email from AOL again?

    I sent a Twitter private message to @AOLSupportHelp (AOL Customer Support)...

    and a got a response that indicates that...

    The availability of the feature may depend on HOW MANY DAYS the AOL Mail account has been logged on in the current browser.

    Not sure if their hint is exactly the cause of the problem or not, just relaying the info.

    Edit: When I opened her account in her browser (which had been logged in for months), it was able to generate app passwords just fine today. Then later, when I opened her account in my browser (which had been logged in for 3-6 days), it too was now able to generate app passwords just fine today.

    Me:

    Hello, I'm getting error "Sorry, this feature is not available right now!" when trying to get an App Password to assist my mother in law, {redacted}, with her account {redacted} --- What can we do to get an App Password?

    @AOLSupportHelp:

    Hi {redacted}. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Due to some recent changes designed to improve the safety of our platforms and member privacy, we’ve made the process to create App Specific Passwords more secure. This can result in some difficulty when trying to set up an ASP from a new device. Please ensure that you try creating an app password without using an Incognito browser and use a browser where you have signed into that account in the past, for at least a couple of days. If this is not successful, there may not be a workaround; as we don't know if or when this feature will be available, we encourage you to use Webmail or the AOL Mail app to access your email. We’ll share the feedback on how this experience has been for you internally. Thanks again for letting us know.

    Thanks, code is AOL is trying to force people onto their mail service as has been mentioned before. Too much Spam on AOL and why trust AOL!! Then they can also push you to pay for support which they have. Migrate you email service to another platform is the best alternative.

    I can also generate a password for the AOL mail to include with Outlook, that also points to AOL wanting to eliminate all the Verizon accounts on their site.
