Microsoft Outlook Storage Message - reducing from 15GB to 5GB

Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

    I've been using the same ID for >25 years and I remember the 2MB (yes that's correct and not a typo: 2 megabytes) limit for the total hotmail-mailbox. So yes, they HAVE come a long way.

    But since what MS is telling us does not make any sense at all, is extremely conflicting and it has a large impact on people, I find most replies still very civilised.

    And you know what they say: if a product is 'free', it is not the product: you are. And I am fine with that, but imho you shouldn't defend it as being 'free'.

    I clicked somewhere to get out of the thread the other day, but I still receive notifications. And guess what! those fill my storage space as well LOL.

    How can I make this thread stop coming to my email?

    The organisation has either filled in idiots who dont know what they are doing or someone really greedy who had no smartness to improve revenue by innovation and is moving the goal post in a different direction. Either ways it is time to move away from this time wasting tool. Already spend 15 min daily cleaning the mailbox pof all the junk and spam and real emails falling in the trap. The organisation has lost its focus from its duties and concentrating on making money out of air.

    But I have never used cloud or one drive, I dont need or want them. How can These be deleted from my account, as aits all I require for my emails and their attachments (which are way less than the 7.6 G Im seeing as my outlook storage against 5 G limit.
