Microsoft Outlook Storage Message - reducing from 15GB to 5GB

Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

Hello, My name is Sajjad and I will be assisting you.

I understand your concern. Starting February 1, 2023, cloud storage used across Microsoft 365 apps and services will include Outlook.com attachments data and OneDrive data. All data will continue to be protected with Microsoft’s comprehensive set of security features.

This update will not impact your Outlook.com mailbox storage amount. However, this may reduce how much cloud storage you have available to use with your OneDrive. If you reach your cloud storage quota, your ability to send and receive emails in Outlook.com will be disrupted. You could check your Oultook storage in the link below:

    Sajjad

I have a similar question My information says I need more storage." I have almost 5 GB of I cloud storage and about 7.5 in my free email. But the Microsoft storate is at 5.2.GB. In one breath it says it won't affect my free email account but the pink message says I need more storage. Conflicting messages which one do I believe?

Looks like might be time to leave outlook. Money grab, didn't ask for cloud storage just want my emails to come in and be sent.
