Microsoft Outlook Storage Message - reducing from 15GB to 5GB

Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

That is not what your messaging on the account says, it states that I have "15GB of free email storage...which includes attachments....."

Mine said that I was using 11.7GB out of 15GB and 5.6GB of the 5GB - they shut off my email - could not send or receive. I deleted a bunch of old stuff with attachments and got down to 4.1GB out of 5GB and am again sending and receiving email, but what a PITA! Have had this account for over 26 years and am looking to change.

Solution to the Pink Bar. So yes they changed terms February 1st.

Create a backup folder on your hard drive and move files into that folder. I moved everything that is older than 2021 and keeping only 2022 and forward. I will move every year onto my desktop at end of year.

I have been a customer for over 20 years. Don't want to lose my email.
