Microsoft Outlook Storage Message - reducing from 15GB to 5GB

Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

    Please explain the logic of this plan.

    So instead of offering a functional 15gbs of storage that includes emails, attachments, and one drive, like Gmail does, you are providing a DYSFUNCTIONAL 20gbs of storage by disingenuously separating attachments from emails when attachments are PART of the email.

    How is this tactic not an obvious and shameless attempt to get people to buy a subscription. Who are the decision makers of this policy? Please share their email addresses so we can give them feedback on their poor decision making.

    I think Microsoft want to cut resource to the outlook email ,

    and deploy resource to ChatGPT :(

    After speaking with customer support, I was assured this was a"global issue' that 'engineers are working on' and was told not to bother deleting anything.

    So... hold tight, I guess? Silly. I wouldn't have ever seen the warning if I hadn't briefly had to log into webmail.

    As long as your 5 GB storage is below 5 GB you're fine. When you start using your email to send/receive large attachments, you'll use up that 5 GB limit fairly quick. This change won't affect me because I have only a few MB in my Microsoft Storage.

    You'll be back swearing at them when you see 2 Storage (Microsoft Storage and EMail Storage) in the Storage option.

    Starting February 1, 2023, cloud storage used across Microsoft 365 apps and services will include Outlook.com attachments data and OneDrive data.

    I already see two sections one email Storage and one Microsoft storage

    email quota as [15 GB ]and One drive quota as [5gb]
