Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

Mine said that I was using 11.7GB out of 15GB and 5.6GB of the 5GB - they shut off my email - could not send or receive. I deleted a bunch of old stuff with attachments and got down to 4.1GB out of 5GB and am again sending and receiving email, but what a PITA! Have had this account for over 26 years and am looking to change.
Exactly! Just what I asked on a different thread...where are these attachments and why can't they be separated from their emails ( as they must be if they are stored differently within ms) downloaded and stored on computers, leaving original emails in outlook ?!
Apparently they are making it so the email "attachments" shares your Onedrive space, which is only 5GB, but the funny thing is the wording in Chinese when you click on manage your storage, they even stated that the 15GB is what you got for emails "INCLUDING ALL EMAIL FOLDERS AND ATTACHEMENTS"
conflict much? too greedy to change the description even, I hope the ABK deal fails. Sony was right, they are gonna go full monopoly on our behind.

Your answer is just what is written on-line by Microsoft.
I have about 3gb of my one drive storage used with files, so that should leave 2GB for more files. I have 8GB of e-mails outr of my 15gb limit. The 2 questions are 1) Is Microsoft going to stop me from sending and receiving e-mails? or, 2) Is my remaining unused with files 2GB of One Drive storage going to be used by Outlook files and therfore I will not be able to save any more files to One Drive?
