Outlook Task List / Todo list is no where to be found in the NEW Outlook Desktop.

OKAY, So I was offered to try out the new outlook desktop today and to be honest I'm in love with the new look.

In addition to being able to now PIN important emails to the top, it also now seems to integrate with Gmail to import and save all of your contacts !!, Another feature that has been missing from outlook forever !!

Anyways, Microsoft and all their wisdom seems to remove functionality or break stuff whenever they think they're fixing and it appears now that the tasks / todo list is nowhere to be found...

MS pointed me to support article that specifically says that they do still have tasks / to-do and that it has been relocated to (MY DAY) Top right hand corner, But there is no tab that says Todo as stated in their support article... see my attached screen shot..

according to the Microsoft article there should be a tab right next to the calendar tab --

I only use Gmail accounts. I do not use my Microsoft account as my default email provider ... So I'm concerned that the reason why the to-do list isn't showing up for me is because perhaps Gmail doesn't support this functionality (and or) the new outlook can't integrate with Gmail properly...

Please help.

    Yes, they recently updated the system to display the ‘To Do’ tab, which was not previously visible. I presume that these ‘To Dos’ are intended to replace the old tasks typically found in the desktop version of Outlook. I’ve conducted some tests on the new Outlook and found it quite appealing. However, there are significant flaws in the new version that make it unsuitable for my needs. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I am unable to transition to the new version at this time.... Hopefully it gets fixed in the near future because some of the added capabilities are very nice.

    Thanks for your research. Just switched to the new outlook today and followed pretty much every suggestion on this thread but no luck. Seems like MS wants to be the curator of all your data and I won't go into all my conspiracy theories regarding that. I'll just revert to the old version where I should always have access to my stuff anyway.

    So, turns out, the secret handshake to get these fancy features to work in the new outlook is coded in Microsoft vibes only. Gmail accounts need not apply. 🚫🔍 I've taken the scenic route through troubleshooting land, but alas, no luck. Trying to get an Answer from Microsoft is like trying to teach a fish to ride a bicycle - interesting, but futile.

    Our friends at Microsoft are playing it cool, not spilling the tea on this Gmail snub. 🤐🍵 Maybe it's an exclusive club, and we just didn't get the memo?

    Either way, if you find a workaround or a secret handshake, share the deets! Until then, tata.

    I absolutely agree. Sometimes internet is not an option. (Airplanes... In a mountain getaway...) And, frankly, sometimes I don't WANT to be be connected to the internet and yet still use my "devices" stand-alone.

    Some people... (corporations) don't git it!
