Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
FIXED: Updated my Mac to Ventura 13.4, fixed the problem for me. Hope this helps.

Since today, when I try to compose an email it will let me type in both the subject and body fields (as normal) but not in the 'To' field to enter the recipient's email address.
I click on the 'To' bit and nothing happens. I hover the cursor over it and try to type - nothing happens. I'm blocked out from entering any email addresses.
It means I cannot send any new emails from my account via my desktop. Seems to be just fine from my phone.
It's bizarre and frustrating and I can't find anything about it online.
Desktop is an older iMac using Safari. Never had a problem before.

Same. It's a royal pain but we're stuck with Microsoft for now as Google products are not usable everywhere in the world. I hope someone at Microsoft works this out. Totally strange - but that's Microsoft. They're only hurting their own reputation.
I have had the same problem for a while.
I am now doing the thing suggested below, expanding into a new window, which seems to work. Doesn't really answer the question of why though!!
am having the same problem as well
I noticed I few months ago if I tried to send an email to myself from my desktop it bounced back stating unknown recipient
I can't enter into the To box panel and CC OR BCC
does anyone know what to do to cure it
its fine on my iPhone just my Mac desktop
I have th exact same problem, but only in Safari. If I use google chrome or Firefox, it's fine (I actually hate that so many things are not working well anymore on Safari but... I guess that's the way it goes...)
