How can I easily switch my Editor languages in Outlook

Hi,

I am working in three languages. This means that one mail I am writing in one language, the next one, I will be replying in a different language. The current way of working is that I always manually select the text and indicate the language I am using. This is quite tedious; it would be easier when I can easily change it in one click or one keyboard shortcut.

Does someone know a solution for this inconvenience pls?

Windows 11, new Outlook design, with Editor active.

    Same issue here: working in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English, French, Dutch and Spanish...and the best Microsoft can offer is a roundabout solution for THREE languages...****?! WHY limit it to three?? Would more languages use up all available system memory / fill the harddrive? I. Don't. Understand. This. Limitation...?!

    Working for a client the next 18 months, and locked to Windows...never missed my Mac more IN MY LIFE! :-(

    "When drafting an email, select the (…) overflow menu on the simplified ribbon, or Editor on the Classic ribbon.

    Select Editor > Editor Settings."

    No way to find out the "Editor Settings" when directly answering/forwarding an e-mail. 

    You can set proofing language only if you "Pop Out" the editing message and go to the Review tab.

    Hi there

    Not sure if this is still an issue with everyone, but I've just found out how to add additional languages on the new Outlook. Since the new Outlook app has been imposed upon me, this has been a major hassle for me as I use French and English on a daily basis in my emails.

    This is how I solved the issue:

    • Create a new message or reply to an existing message.
    • On the menu bar, click on Options
    • In the top left corner, just below the menu bar, click on the small blue icon that resembles a pen with three lines.
    • Then click on Settings.
    • Click on "Gérer les langues de la vérification orthographique", or in English, something like "Manage spell check languages"
    • There you can add up to 3 languages. When writing an email, the language you use will be automatically detected and the spell-check activated.
