How can I easily switch my Editor languages in Outlook

It's funny to see how 18 months later Microsoft has done nothing to address this issue. January 2025 and this is clearly not working.

I switch between Catalan, Spanish and English, and each time the "automatic" detection messes up. Most of the times it even fails to detect the language and marks everything as a mistake.

There is no menu to change this manually.

It's not so difficult: add a menu, please!

There is no specific button you can click on to switch languages. Once you've added the desired languages in the settings, the language you're working on is automatically detected and spell check activated. This works for me in English and French. Hope this helps!

Editor settings doesn't exist.

Can't find a proofing language box.

Not sure if this is still an issue with everyone, but I've just found out how to add additional languages on the new Outlook. Since the new Outlook app has been imposed upon me, this has been a major hassle for me as I use French and English on a daily basis in my emails.

This is how I solved the issue:

• Create a new message or reply to an existing message.
• On the menu bar, click on Options
• In the top left corner, just below the menu bar, click on the small blue icon that resembles a pen with three lines.
• Then click on Settings.
• Click on "Gérer les langues de la vérification orthographique", or in English, something like "Manage spell check languages"
• There you can add up to 3 languages. When writing an email, the language you use will be automatically detected and the spell-check activated.

No way to find out the "Editor Settings" when directly answering/forwarding an e-mail. 

You can set proofing language only if you "Pop Out" the editing message and go to the Review tab.
