How can I easily switch my Editor languages in Outlook

do you have some solution that makes using new outlook back to functions that were there before?!\

In Europe, we are communicating in more than just english, so you can try to write 30 emails in 3 different languages.

There is a bug that even I have 3 languages added in editor for spellcheck and so on, only first one is considered, how this should work? This si so annoying that it makes Outlook unusable to writing emails, which sounds to me bit strange from email client app.

Do you have at least some another workaround except changing each time order of the languages, or we need to move from Microsoft products completely?

Hi Jason,

You clearly see that there are multiple people having the same issue and asking for a workable solution. On top of, there is even an issue with the "ok" button.

Could you revert back to this thread and inform us what Microsoft is going to do about this please?

the solution is existing, but it takes to many clicks to change the spelling language of the existing text:

Word - two clicks: one on the language in the status bar and one to select the new language

Outlook - four clicks: Review ->Language ->Set proofing language and one to select the new language

Somebody may think, there's no big difference between two and four clicks, but people having to switch 5-10 times within one mail find it very annoying, especially because there's no keyboard shortcut (known to me).

For typing new text, Windows+Space is a great solution, as I don't have to move my hand from the keyboard to change the language.

@Microsoft: it shouldn't be too difficult to implement the same solution for existing text!!

It's funny to see how 18 months later Microsoft has done nothing to address this issue. January 2025 and this is clearly not working.

I switch between Catalan, Spanish and English, and each time the "automatic" detection messes up. Most of the times it even fails to detect the language and marks everything as a mistake.

There is no menu to change this manually.

It's not so difficult: add a menu, please!

I am working with the New Outlook and although I had to search a little, I have found the solution. You can actually have a total of 3 languages checked at the same time.

Open a mail and go to the tab: Options. Click on Editor, and select Editor Settings. In the pop-up window called Microsoft Editor Settings, click on Manage spellcheck languages. Here you can add additional languages, but you might need to change the default language to the newly added language for it to work.

I tested it with Dutch and English in a single mail and it works.
