New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

    Thank you so much. I sent an email to my work email..teleworking and the email went to my work email in less than a minute but my outlook just keeps saying synchronizing sent and I responded back to the email that I sent to the work email...laptop provided by my workplace..but no emails are coming in at all to my outlook. When I check again at the IMAP...there was nothing even showing the word POP but IMAP was what you had said for incoming....just no POP showing and the outgoing is what you showed. I don't know what they did but they lied when they said nothing would be affected. This is a big deal for me since I get a lot of email from my doctors and other important things to this outlook. I have not checked WEB mail yet to see if it's coming in there and not forwarding but will do that now and answer on this, So, I just checked the centurylink web mail and the email is there but it's not forwarding to my outlook like it had been. I don't understand what they did but they really messed me up. So stressful.

    Your account is added as an IMAP account - that is why you have the sync issues. POP is download inbox only, IMAP syncs all folders in the mailbox online.

    Do you recall if you've always used IMAP or did you previously have POP and it got switched to IMAP?

    Do you have any sync issues? Look in the Sync issues folder in the Folder navigation pane (Ctrl+6 to open it if the buttons are on the bottom). If your Outlook navigation buttons are in a vertical bar on the left, click the bottom icon in the vertical bar and choose Folder.

    Errors will be in red text in the Sync Issues folder.

    To switch back to the Mail pane, click the Mail button or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+1.

    Oh my goodness. I did your directions and it shows 436 sync issues and I have clue what that word means or what any of this means. I will try to insert what it keeps doing. I am no good at this computer stuff. I thought I had pop and then two days good I had issues since Brightspeed took over but all was fine until 2 days ago. Brightspeed took over 3 OCT from Centurylink.

    Find the red text in the sync issues message - copy a line or two about the red text + the red text and paste it here.

    If you want to switch to POP, I can give you the steps to try it.
