New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

Brightspeed service tech was here on-time and we quickly got the line repaired!

On your problems, as I said before, I'm not an Outlook user; however, I've done some searching and found that (I believe) there is a setting for server time-out. I believe you get to it by going to your account settings page, then select "More settings,,,". On that page, select the "Advanced" tab. Near the center there is a "Server Timeouts" slide-bar that goes from "Short" to "Long". Move the setting to "Long", and click on "OK". From my experience with the new Centurylink mail service, it is noticeably slower than before and slower that gmail, but not intolerable.

Restart your Outlook and see if that makes a difference. If not, you can go back and reset the time-out to as it was before.

Thanks. The output from all of your "nslookup" commands was as they should be. That means the Brightspeed DNS setup is working properly.

I tried as you suggested with the server timeouts...found it in server settings...and it didn't make any difference. My nephew said he still has not received my email and the one he did receive yesterday, it took 4 hours for him to get it and two hours for the response to come back. I have no clue what has occurred but whatever that upgrade that Centurylink did on 24 OCT, it really messed me over. I am so glad to hear you got a quick response and your got your internet up and running again. I also want to thank you for all the help and ideas you have given me. Whatever Centurylink did with the upgrade, it just totally messed up my Outlook and even webmail. I am trying to come to accept that this will no be resolved. Oddly enough, on fb, I had PM from someone I had been talking to and she said the techs said they have resolved everyone's issues. I told her I was sorry to have to say this but my issues are not even close to being resolved and I paid too much for the Microsoft office with Outlook for their upgrade to have messed it up when it is the primary email that important email is supposed to be forwarded to and even used to verify other things. Nothing more for me to do but speak to this woman on the phone Tuesday and tell her this is not fixed and I really don't want to hear them say....nothing more we can do since they are the ones who messed it up on 24 OCT. Again, thank you and you have been so kind and helpful trying to help me get this figured out and fixed after Centurylink messed it up. :(

    OK, one more suggestion...

Have you checked you "Spam" folder on webmail? It could be that some messages are getting trapped by the Centurylink spam filter.

I have done that and the odd things is that some emails are not even showing up in the webmail. I had a fb message an hour ago from the one who had sent an email up and she said the techs said all issues were resolved and they would close the ticket unless I still had problems. I said...my issues were never resolved so please leave the ticket open. I also told her if they read the messages on fb, they would see that I am not the only one. It is clear their IT techs don't know what they are doing and when they did this "upgrade" to Centurylink webmail that it caused issues that most never had. I don't know if they can fix this or not but I expect them to do so since they did mess it up. It is so sporadic on emails coming in or not. My nephew is the one I test with and with my hotmail. He got 3 emails immediately and got my responses and then this last one that I replied to...he still has not received...he writes me in hotmail to let me know. Mine is a hot mess and I am feeling concerned they will never get it fixed and figured out but they sure did mess it up in 1 day. Thank you for all the checks you have done and the help you have given me. My son says...mom...it's 2022...I guess what else can we expect. Our 2022 has been awful starting in JAN and just continues to keep giving unwanted "gifts". Trying to find the positive somehow and at this point...well...I just can't. You have been great and I thank you for your patience with me since I do not know much at all about computers except the simple things like clicking an ICON and it opening and working like it should.
