New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

The message I got when I typed that in the CMD was... "Unable to resolve target system name mail.centurylink.net." I have no clue what that means but doesn't sound good to me.

I use a desk top so I have set for every minute to check for emails.

    Good news / bad news...

The good news is that it is a clue. The bad news is that it says that Brightspeed (not Centurylink) has a problem with their DNS server configuration. Of course it's a little murky because Brightspeed should be using a DNS server that is operated by Lumen/Centurylink.

Try the command again, but with the IP address rather than the hostname, i.e.,

    tracert 209.67.129.100

Also, try the real name rather than the alias, i.e.,

    tracert lumen.pangia.biz

On the subject of Outlook server settings, is there a chance that when you check your email with your browser at webmail.centurylink.net that you close Outlook? I ask because, there is usually another email client server setting that says to check for new mail at startup. This is normally turned on by default and would mean that after you check with webmail, you restart Outlook and it then checks for new mail at startup.

I have no idea if I typed in the right numbers. I googled how to find IP info and there is like IPv4 and saw two things. Does this look right?

I truly am totally not a computer person. I saw something that said DNS number.
