I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

I am so sorry to hear about the tree and glad you are safe and sounds like you had a storm. Good luck with Brightspeed and hopefully you will get someone there quickly. I will try the CMDs...I will post for you to see when you can...I won't know what I am looking at. Thank you for trying to help me with this.
Notice: I may be unavailable tomorrow as a tree fell on my Brightspeed phone/internet line. I still have service as of now, but after being on the phone all day trying to get a service call, one is scheduled for tomorrow. I know you can relate to being on hold waiting to talk to a Brightspeed agent.
In the mean time, you could do me a favor by retrying the nslookup command in a CMD window. Try all of these hostnames multiple times:
nslookup mail.centurylink.net
nslookup pop.centurylink.net
nslookup smtp.centurylink.net
nslookup lumen.pangia.biz
nslookup ocsp.digicert.com
Those are all hostnames that may be used to establish and talk with the Centurylink email servers.
Thanks
I have no idea what that means but sounds like Centurylink royally messed up a lot with this "Upgrade" and though when you go to www.centurylink.net...it claims the issues have been resolved which is not true. Mine has not been resolved and I wish they would not put that lie out there as I know I am not the only one having weird issues and not getting email one minute and then it might work and then not work...whether outgoing or incoming. She is supposed to call me Tuesday to check on the status. I have her phone number to call her but wanted to give it time and can't call her on Monday due to I won't be physically in front of the computer. It's disheartening to say the least.
This is insane! All of the hostnames (mail.centurylink.net, pop.centurylink.net, and smtp.centurylink.net) resolve to the same IP address, i.e., 209.67.129.100 (lumen.pangia.biz). The port specifies which communications protocol to use.
