New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

    Hello...it is intermittent or none at all. I actually had someone from centurylink call me earlier. She did a zoom to look at my stuff and it seemed to be working after that and I reput the password in as she requested but now...back to if I reply...nothing comes in. Even a new email from my nephew not coming in. She is going to call me back on Tuesday to see how things are going. I got excited and thought they were fixed but clearly not. I am going to try the reboot of modem buy unplugging and counting and plugging back in. I don't need to touch the ethernets though, right? I can just undo from the back of the modem but have to be out of everything I would assume. I hate to sound dumb, It just don't know how these things work.

    Yes, un-plug the modem from AC power, wait for 10-30 secs then re-plug it into AC. There's also a reboot option available if you login to the modem as admin, but the unplug/re-plug routine works just as well.

    The response you received from Centurylink is a canned response. I received the same response. Their first step is just to verify that your credentials (login/password) are correct in their security server. I assume yours are since to are able to view your mail via browser access to webmail.centurylink.net.

    One more bit of info may help me: is your Outlook access to your Centurylink mail intermittent, or is it none at all? I've been assuming it was intermittent as mine was.

    I don't want to sound dumb but is that where you unplug it for 10 seconds and then plug back in...the modem I mean. Brightspeed has already said to me that they have nothing to do with Centurylink emails not forwarding to my Outlook. Centurylink said I need to authenticate my webmail or something like that. I have no clue what they mean. This is what Centurylink emailed to me which didn't forward to my outlook but I found in my webmail. All that is Greek to me and I only use a desk top. I don't use any mobile device for anything but making a call and a text.

    Don't worry about the nslookup right now, I was just probing for some strange things.

    I would highly recommend the modem reboot. What it will do is find a (possibly) different (Brightspeed) ISP server which might have more recent updates. It should also refresh the routing tables (used to tell the system where to send the packets.

    You are very smart with a computer!! Everything you wrote, totally went over my head. LOL I will try the command prompt and put in what you put. I haven't rebooted the modem...too afraid it may not come up again. Ok...did the command prompt thing and it says default server- Modem.home. Then is just said Address 192.168.0.1. All of this is just Greek to me. I have no idea what DNS is. I am so lost in all of this and they outright told me it's on me to fix even though they messed it up.
