How do I stop the Yahoo sign-in request pop-up on my Outlook 365 Inbox?

every time i try to use outlook it wants me to sign in to yahoo - i have never used yahoo for email

i need help

My experience with both computers running Windows 11 have produced the same results. Nothing I've tried worked. However, my Mac was a different story. All I did was follow Mac instructions and BOOM! It worked, I am now convinced Apple has the better engineers. Sorry Microsoft.

Hi Karl, Can you help me with a similar problem. I want to stop outlook form trying to get yahoo email, I have the same pop up when I open outlook.

The difference is - I want to KEEP all my yahoo email history in outlook. I have alot of folders and emails for yahoo that I still reference. But I stopped using yahoo acct.

Account info - states "Microsoft exchange"

I have an office 365 acct

I took out the password in the mail settings so outlook can't log into yahoo because inbox was overrun with spam from yahoo

First step is to get an accurate inventory of what you have and what you are using

#1 - A Yahoo account would never be configured as an Exchange account. So in terms of the Outlook desktop program, what accounts do you see listed in the Outlook profile? That's done from within Outlook by going to

<File> --> <Account Settings> --> <Account Settings> --> <Email> tab

*** more specifically, what is the actual account configured as an Exchange account?

#2 - Just going by the description without knowing anything else, you have a Yahoo account configured as a "connected account" to an Outlook.com based account which would have had to be done prior to May 10th, 2021.

To check this, log into that account via a browser using this link

Outlook.com Login

Once logged into the account, check to see if you have the Yahoo account configured as a "connected account" - done by

a) click on the <Gear> (Settings) icon - top right

b) select Mail --> Sync Email

If you see the Yahoo account listed, select it and click on the <Trash> icon. This will remove the account but not remove anything that has already been downloaded.
