How do I stop the Yahoo sign-in request pop-up on my Outlook 365 Inbox?

A little unclear as to why you marked my previous response which only asked questions to clarify you environment as not resolving your issue

Re: Your Verizon account

#1 - The information relevant to that account would be what the current server settings for the account are set to. Done by going to

<File> --> <Account Settings> --> <Server Settings> as shown in the attached screenshot

#2 - The information asked about the version / build / channel info was shown in the attached screenshot - it was not the informtion when clicking on the <About Outlook> button which does not show what channel you are on

A number of people have reported having issues similar to what you've described since the above came into being

Without knowing anything else about what is going on, Verizon did at one point, use Yahoo servers.

The pop-up occurs on my Outlook 365 desktop program (part of office).

I have a Verizon email address. A screenshot shows the email account window in Account Settings.

A screenshot below shows information on my Outlook version. Version 2307. Build 16.0.16626.20028, 64 bit.

I am not aware that Verizon/AOL has made any changes to my account.

I have no idea as to how Yahoo knows my Verizon email address. I don't want to deactivate my Verizon email address. I could change the password, and I could delete it from my Outlook synced emails and then re-sync it.

First, just to make things less confusing in terms of terminology, what you are referring to as an <Outlook 365 email account> is actually the Outlook desktop 365 desktop program if the screenshot is a correct indication of things. It may sound like a nit but an Outlook 365 email account is completely different then the Outlook 365 desktop program (part of Office)

Your screenshot indicates that this belongs to a <Verizon> email account so if, from within Outlook, you go to

<File> --> <Account Settings> --> <Account Settings> --> <Email> tab

Do you have a Verizon email account? If yes, has Verizon made any changes to your account on their side of things? Verizin at one point used Yahoo servers but as far as I know, they now use AOL servers for their services (I am not a Verizon customer).

At the very least, any account using AOL or Yahoo servers requires the use of an <App Password> from the respective providers.

Also, in the interests of time, what Outlook version / build / channel are you using. To find that, go to <File> --> <Office Account> (similar to the attached screenshot)

The pop-up occurs on the Inbox window of my Outlook 365 email account. This account is on my desktop which is using Windows 10.

This just stated to happen about a week ago. To my knowledge, nothing was done in Outlook that might have caused these pop-ups.

The pop-up wants me to sign-in to a Yahoo account, and then allow that account to be the one I would use to access my Outlook account.

I have had two Yahoo email accounts. Neither email account is configured in Outlook 365.

In an attempt to stop the pop-ups, I closed both of my Yahoo email accounts today. Apparently, however, it will be about 30 days for these accounts to be removed from Yahoo's servers.

Can you expand a little on where exactly you are getting this sign-in request?

Just to confirm something, when you state "my Outlook 365 Inbox" are you referring to the Outlook desktop program (part of Office) - the forum in which this question is posted?

Is this something that just started happening without anything else having been done in Outlook?

Is there a Yahoo based account (any email account using Yahoo servers) configured in Outlook '365. To verify, from within Outlook, go to

<File> --> <Account Settings> --> <Account Settings> --> <Email> tab

Once there is a clearer picture of your environment, will be able to provide a more specific response.
