Problems with hotmail and onedrive storage?

I encountered the same problem last night and spent several hours deleting emails to get just to 4.9gb in my Hotmail. I am glad I'm not the only one frustrated and confused.

How come i get 15gb in hotmail, yet only 5gb in one drive, which includes Hotmail? That doesn't make sense, where is the other 10gb?

I have read comments on here that one drive now syncs to your attachments and stores them there, can I undo that feature somehow so the attachments stay in Hotmail where i have 15gb and not transfered to one drive where i only have 5gb? (Which is a pathetic amount of data in my opinion)

Over the past several days I noticed my hotmail account was not behaving as usual.

First I updated my mail app on my Microsoft computer ( big mistake). It showed me that I was 171% over usage of my account. I never had issues before. The total space used was about 8GB.

Of course many emails were rejected and God knows if I got bills that need my attention. Welcome to this stupid all digital world. Now I may be charged extra fees by these companies for not paying my bills on time.

Needless to say it seems the only solution is to subscribe to a yearly fee plan from Microsoft. What the f……

Since I have spent countless hours just deleting my digital Hotmail life of the past 15 yrs or so. So much for reliability!

Now am at 4.5GB and I’m still getting the warning that I’m of fully close to the 5GB limit.

I just don’t know what happened to our 15GB. Supposedly available to us Hotmail people.

Extremely disappointed in this digital enterprise.

I shared all my pictures to my Google Drive, but then got a notification that my google drive was full. I also went through one night in front of the TV and deleted about half of my pics. MANY of them were duplicates??? [don't need those filling up my storeage] but I think all these greedy corportations are betting on people wanting to pay to keep stuff and be willing to pay for it. When I did these two things, I searched in Google for how to sever the connection between OneDrive and my hotmail account. So, it's been sitting at 4.9 GB ever since. It's still annoying, I still get the pink banner telling me I am almost out of space, even though on its site it says you get 15 GB of free storage in hotmail. Cloud storage will probably become illegal in the next decade b/c of energy consumption and climate change, so I'd print off the photos that mean the most to you...

Microsoft is nit picking at everything. I've had a file in my Hotmail for 7-8 years and NOTHING was ever said about it. So, the other day I get notice that I need to remove the slashmark in the folder name. I did it. Justvwaiting on them to FIND SOMETHING ELSE. I still can't find out how to get all of my pictures out of ONE Drive. I do not want lose pictures that mean a lot to me.

I am paying and it still does not work!

We have the same problem with a hotmail account, I added the account to the 365 family account, so now I have 1 Tb of storage and only 0,5 ,Gb used, but the problem with the hotmail still persists:

• not receiving emails
• no notification to sender that email is not received

However I can send emails, and it seems spam emails are received.

In a Microsoft store in London I was advised to call Microsoft hotline, they could supposedly fix this by configuration of the account. However, following the instructions in the phone menu, one ends up with the message to check the Microsoft site, so no personal contact is possible. On the Microsoft site I did not find any hint how to solve the problem, all dead end advice that leads nowhere.

Since this seems to be a widespread problem, I wonder why no-one from Microsoft offered an answer or a solution.
