It seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to generate an APP PASSWORD in order to set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook. I have found all the instructions online but I do NOT find the said options in my Yahoo email account or in My Microsoft account?
I cannot find any clickable command for "generate app password"...i FIND EVERY OTHER OPTION. But Not app password!!

Hey, I've never added Yahoo Mail to outlook but was looking to do it now. It does not work right now, there is no drop down, and entering "Outlook Desktop" or "Desktop Outlook" (either of them) does not work. I tried this for both Mac and Windows. I cannot generate an app specific password.
I had so much hope that this would solve my problem - but sadly not. They just don’t want me to generate a password!
Yes, I suppose they want people to stop using their free 1TB service; that's my best guess. It's been off like this since forever now.
It’s strange that I was able to log on two my Mac Mini and Mac Pro using Outlook without a special password. For my Windows machine it does require a special password. Really confused here. Perhaps it’s some sort of royalty thing Yahoo wants from Microsoft.
Okay, it worked on your Mac. I tried it on Mac too mine did not work. Guess we never know the real issue.
