HOW TO Generate a YAHOO APP PASSWORD - standard instructions NOT WORKING!!

It seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to generate an APP PASSWORD in order to set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook. I have found all the instructions online but I do NOT find the said options in my Yahoo email account or in My Microsoft account?

I cannot find any clickable command for "generate app password"...i FIND EVERY OTHER OPTION. But Not app password!!

ANy help much appreciated. I seem to have lost my bellsouth email in my outlook!! what a nightmare!

    How did they fix the issue? Did they. S mention what the exact problem is? In other posts, people are conplaining tech support was useless in spite of them being paying subscribers.

    There are numerous instances that it works and doesn't work. In my case I have to use the code from another Windows computer. But no code was required for the Mac version. But another poster mentioned that he couldn't get it to work on his Mac. It's been a hit or miss for a lot of people. Thanks.

    I paid the $5 for tech support, and they logged into my computer to fix it. I’d try that.

    The app password generator does not work.

    Get a message stating:

    "Sorry! This feature is not available right now."

    Been getting this for the last 5 days so i have to physically log into my account online to access email.

    I have an app that lets me add all my email addresses yet it won't work because my email settings are not up to date.....and Yahoo won't let me bring them up to date.

    I'm using the latest of Outlook365. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide an option for an in-app walk through of two step verification. Ironically, I got that process to work in the Windows Mail app after several fails, under Win 10 Pro.

    As of this AM, Yahoo still not generating the App P/W.

    Hi, are you using the “new outlook “view? I had so many problems generating the pass code on the old view, which I really do prefer. But because of the password issue, I had to switch to the new look of Outlook version. And now I no longer have the password issue as often, and when I do get the pop-up to enter my password, I am able to generate it on the Yahoo website. Try that.
