New Outlook won't open .pst files

This is a fatal flaw to all of us that rely on PST files for organization methods. I refer to my PST files all day every day. I had to switch back to the old Outlook in order to have my files again. What a shame.

I have worked with Microsoft Techs since earlier 2023 regarding the inability to access my .pst file following an update and I just found this thread in February 2024 after my pst file has now become corrupted.

I have spent a year trying to deal with this problem while trying to run a multi-milliondollar consulting business which is dependent upon access to my contacts and email history with my clients. After weeks on the line with Microsoft immediately following the suspect download with the assistance of Microsoft techs who were unfamiliar with the issue, they had me reload the software numerous times, run numerous system checks, run scanpst.exe and following the final reload of Microsoft now the program which allows Microsoft to dial into my system isn't functional......also corrupt probably.

Personally I realized I believed the issue was a programming bug that Microsoft hadn't disclosed to techs and eventually I expected a program fix so I continued to attempt to downsize, compress the size of my .pst file, run scanpst.exe, run repair on the Microsoft 365 program and even though my Outlook program frequently failed when I tried to access emails through the .pst file I could view them.

Now my .pst program is completely corrupt and after a thorough recital of the events of the last year a Microsoft tech's response to me was to run scanpst.exe once again.

Then I happened upon this thread. Why if Microsoft was going to limit the functionality of users who accessed Microsoft 365 through a .pst file wasn't that aggressively advertised through marketing announcements to Microsoft 365 users prior to the respective Microsoft upload being dropped onto users' computers?

And now I understand this was not a programming error but an intentional act by Microsoft which they have failed to publish to their users or even their own tech staff?

I need access to my .pst file to run my business NOW! Even if I change the business email account I have had for over two decades to a new email address with an outlook extension, how do I import the emails from my now corrupted .pst file so they can be accessed through Microsoft 365?

I have to have an answer to this question and as a loyal Microsoft user who once owned Microsoft programs and now utilizies the programs through Microsoft 365 I deserve a response!!!

If I had been advised of the change in Microsoft 365's functionality I could have taken actions to secure access to the emails in my pst account and set up a new Microsoft email account without an interruption to my business...which has been ongoing for over a year now.

What are our recourses as Microsoft users?

Naturally, any email files associated with Microsoft are fully functional.

Why would anyone use Outlook if it does not have PST files.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that the New Outlook, which is part of Microsoft 365, does not support PST files either. I have another issue with it regarding the missing Search Folder feature, so I have switched back to the old Outlook, but the other day I tried to turn on New Outlook again and it warned me that the New Outlook does not support PST files, so I switched back again.
