I'm using Outlook.live and I get upwards of 50 phishing emails a day. I report them all... every day. This has been going on for years. I get the same type and look of email even though the sender address constantly changes. Most are just a few block sentences, centered, no frills, that says Congratulations you won..., Click here for your prize..., Click here for this... Click here for that...
Blocking senders is a waste of time. They are always different. I thought Microsoft would be able to block based on content but I'm getting the same stuff over and over... Same stuff I've reported as phishing for years so it doesn't appear that the hundreds of thousands of emails I've reported are being looked at by anyone.
Is there no filtering on Microsoft's side? If there is, why is it not working... if not why report the phishing emails??

☎️ CALLING MR GATES.. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL HOTMAIL WINDOWS USER SINCE THE DAWN.. I KNOW!! PLEASE PROGRAM A FEATURE THAT USES AI… IF IT LOOKS LIKE SPAM? KICK IT BACK!! FWD THEM TO THEIR LOSER LIFE ACCOUNT!! 🤬
I open the preview and if convenient and I have the time I call the number. I don't do it every time but if we all called that number we would be forcing them to answer the call and waste their time. I don't yell at them or anything like that. Sometimes I don't say anything at all. Maybe, "just wanted you to have to answer the call".
Imagine if everyone who got a spam from them called. Imagine thousands of people calling, wasting their time. But no, we just delete and do nothing. It is often satisfying when they eventually understand why I am calling and and get mad. I've had some yell at me.
I'm sure my return call doesn't do much but imagine what we could do united. Everyday hundreds of thousands of us calling to make them answer the phone in regards to that BS "Geek Squad" or "Norton" invoice.

If you want to waste their time by wasting your own time, you do that. The best thing to do to spam the scammers is to use automated call. Just create a million calls to their number. Sit back and relax.
Steve Ricketts - I know exactly what you mean and it's gotten ridiculous with Christmas season. You and I know that we don't need to open emails to see that they're phishing - notifications of package delays, subscription lapses, denied payment, etc. when it shows them not coming from legitimate sources. I started to wonder what good it does if I have to report the same ones over and over and yet they still keep coming. So, I've thrown in the towel and just empty the junk folder without wasting the time to report them. I'm an old man and I have better things to do with my remaining time other than put in reports that seemingly do no good!
