I hate the NEW Outlook

I have been trying to run the "NEW" outlook for a few months now. It is SOOO frustrating to use as commands and functions have just been deleted. Adding files to an email has become a chore and now requires extra steps! I DON'T want to send a link; I want to send the file itself... it is so confusing.
Viewing an attachment becomes a whole new experience as it doesn't open the app related to the file type but leads you down more complicated corridors. Saving attachments is also time consuming as it saves it (unless you are careful) in some sort of folder on One Drive.
I run three accounts (corporate, outlook.com and gmail.com) on mail plus I monitor a few shared folders as well. What used to be simple is now a real chore! Want to change how often in checks for mail... forget it. want to change the functions when it goes to get the mail. Completely disappeared.

Switching back to the "old version" froze the application as it could not update the Outlook account. It is a real tragedy that we seem to have to accept this as the "only" version soon. I am already looking around for alternatives. I have now reverted back to "OLD" and fixed the problem with mail. I have send a note to the organization to NEVER try and load this cut down version... it is a terrible replacement.

Come on Microsoft, you can do better than this.... or is it impossible!!

    Totally agree on this.

    Finding out the older emails and attachments in a series of correspondence is so annoying and time consuming. Gmail seems far more efficient in that case.

    Awaiting something better from the MS team.

    I agree totally with the comments of the other "NEW" Outlook users who viscerally HATE IT!. With MS moving more and more toward the SAS subscription model and bundling Outlook with Office 365 package, it has significantly "dumbed down" what was a very reliable, functional product in the classic OUTLOOK to a dysfunctional, awkward to use disappointing experience.

    I have filled out their pointless feedback page numerous times and only get more frustrated each time.

    I am actively looking for a good alternative for the "New Outlook." Suggestions anyone???

    In addition to MS Outlook I am finding MS Teams increasingly mystifying. Maybe it's my age but nothing seems simple and intuitive any more. My blood pressure goes through the roof every time I have to do a presentation! I keep asking for Zoom which just seems better.

    I soooo agree with your comment on Apple and MS; These enterprises get richer by the day whilst the ordinary Joe suffers their 'improvements' and lack of compatibility with one another. They care little for the good of man kind. And Bill Gates is trying to assuage his guilty conscience using the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. On a positive note, Apple just got fined £1.8Bn by the E.U. (something to do with Spotify) and this is just the start as around the world big tech laviathans power's are to be curbed I understand. Start with these two then onto Meta I hope

    But a lot of damage has already been done; remember the Microsoft motto: Embrace-Extend-Extinguish- thus they have driven out almost all competition and with it, innovation for the common good.

    Here in the UK the Monopolies and Merger Commission (now the Competition and Markets Authority) would have shut them down decades ago!

    Glad to see that maybe, just maybe the world is finally waking up to these ALL POWERFUL tech monsters!

    No ideas- Bill Gates destroyed all meaningful competition decades ago- remember his motto:

    EMBRACE- EXTEND- EXTINGUISH
