I have been trying to run the "NEW" outlook for a few months now. It is SOOO frustrating to use as commands and functions have just been deleted. Adding files to an email has become a chore and now requires extra steps! I DON'T want to send a link; I want to send the file itself... it is so confusing.
Viewing an attachment becomes a whole new experience as it doesn't open the app related to the file type but leads you down more complicated corridors. Saving attachments is also time consuming as it saves it (unless you are careful) in some sort of folder on One Drive.
I run three accounts (corporate, outlook.com and gmail.com) on mail plus I monitor a few shared folders as well. What used to be simple is now a real chore! Want to change how often in checks for mail... forget it. want to change the functions when it goes to get the mail. Completely disappeared.
Switching back to the "old version" froze the application as it could not update the Outlook account. It is a real tragedy that we seem to have to accept this as the "only" version soon. I am already looking around for alternatives. I have now reverted back to "OLD" and fixed the problem with mail. I have send a note to the organization to NEVER try and load this cut down version... it is a terrible replacement.
Come on Microsoft, you can do better than this.... or is it impossible!!

I think they're trying to copy Google gmail and made a complete dogs dinner of it! If I could quit using MS I would but they almost have monopoly-status and really don't care what their customers think.
So many people dislike the latest version of Outlook! Microsoft are you listening???
How on earth did they think this was better. Horrible just horrible! Visually to confusing, printing emails looks like my printer is dry, I would love to go back to the old outlook but without that it's now time to move to Mac where I dont have to pay a suspscription fee to be frustrated.

I second this, it is horrible and I hope it dies before it's official birth. Even changing language settings has become a chore. I know you can technically set it up so that you don't have to leave the email you are currently writing, going through what feels like a million steps (all of which seem to constantly change, since nothing ever quite matches up with guides on how to do this very simple thing), only to change the language for the entire app not just this one email. But let's be real you should not do this for such simple actions. It should just be there as it always has been. However, the fact that they apparently think its more important to put resources into censoring my private emails than, making sure the language used is actually correct and easy to fix... **** mind-blowing, ooohw sorry I mean "ducking" this is a Microsoft space after all, won't happen again.
Seriously Microsoft set your priorities straight and deliver products that are better and easier to use. Not this garbage that makes me want to shoot myself because, it makes me realize I can't really go without an OS and my only alternatives are Linux and a technological dictatorship.
Microsoft please I beg of you make something decent, the future is bleak enough without you guys destroying the few things left that just work. Plus, I'm to impatient for Linux, making the only alternative a full transfer to the Apple ecosystem. God bless ecosystems that are allergic to basic interconnectivity of devices. Don't you just love it when none of your new and expensive devices actually work together unless they are of the same brand? Well those "Ducks" at Apple certainly do. To me that feels like some kind of brand racism. Like Apple is telling their very pure blood Apple tech not to mingle with the dirty scum tech from "place literally anything not-Apple here", but what do I know. And well, it doesn't really matter, because as a normal person with a normal income, I would like to keep my current debt below 100K and I only have about 96k to go, so that's just not going to cut it... So even if it did allow me to keep some of my **** no thank you Mr. Tim Apple.
Having established that, it seems like my only options are to trust Microsoft to nut **** this up and fix what's already broken. Or death..

It is absolutely HORRIBLE. I opened it, I don't see any menu items and commands, it seems to have been stripped of all functions it had. Just a few icons, NO COMMANDS again and a long list o emails. Somebody should be fired for this. I hope they recall this version and look to really improve the older versions. E.g. Search could be improved. Otherwise it serves its function! No need for major overhauls.
In the end I just found a certian competitor's mail client much easier to use and have disabled outlook. Thunder. Bird.
