Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?
I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

I have the same problem, it started maybe a year or more ago... I get many spam mails in my Hotmail inbox every day (sometimes up to 50!) and flagging them as spam or phishing doesn't seem to help... Assistance would be very much appreciated, I have had this email address for 10+ years and would hate to have to change it!
Best of Luck, after 6 months I finally got to speak to a microsoft help desk operator about this, and they basically stated that the emails are a result of a third party being given our email addresses from something we have signed up to or entered our email address in. I tried to look at the coding in the back of the email to track the source, but don't have the experience to do this. Oddly enough, the emails vary in content and where they appear to be from.
I personally think microsoft aren't doing enough to protect our accounts given we are on paid subscriptions.
And, Yes it would be awesome to know if more can be done.

Thank you for your response. Yes, with a little self-help and investigation. I found that most of the emails are fakes from Uganda and India? I think that they are trying to take control of my computer. Also, trying to obtain information from our computers. I spend most of my time deleting and blocking these emails. It is NOT only time consuming but also very annoying. Even when blocked it seems, they find another way to get through. Yes, Microsoft should do more to prevent. If I find the individuals selling my information through third parties, I will definitely take action of some kind. For this reason, I am going back to regular delivered mail. I thought that that method had junk mail? Boy, was I wrong.
Ha ha... he's probably the one behind it! He's diabolically evil in every other aspect, why not drive us all insane as well?
