My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

This has been getting so bad that I'm ready to delete my account and never use hotmail Outlook. It's been going on since 2022. It was reliable until then. Something really wrong with this service.

I am convinced that Microsoft is making a killing with advertisers by ensuring junk mail plagues users. No other email server out there has such prolific junk mail.

I have been having this MSN spam problem for many months, too, and am astounded that Microsoft seems to be ignoring the issue by continuing to tell people to individually disqualify spammers who just keep changing their addresses! THAT IS NO SOLUTION AT ALL, REDMOND! YOU ARE FORCING US TO MOVE TO GMAIL

I started to get this same problem with around 100 spam emails per day around a week or two ago! Sooo annoying and it literally seems like there is nothing we can do! Did you give up? I am considering giving up using my outlook I have had for around 20 years.

I suggest you read the message from Bradford on this page...and several of my messages a page (or 2?) back.

Bottom line, I didn't give up and followed some instructions re: email settings (not sure they helped).

Took a while, but things resolved 'on their own' about a month or so after my issue.

I was considering changing email, but didn't. Not saying this will be the case for everyone.
