Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?
I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

That's seems to be true for me also. I haven't checked my rarely used Gmail account and, you're right, it's not getting the same kind or amount of spam - it's like zero. It's almost like Microsoft turned off their spam switch. Maybe they should get their AI to work on this.
Funny it is only on the Hotmail/outlook account I have not the gmail or yahoo accounts...
I've had a paid msn account for probably 20 years and I'm having the same spam blasting which started, for me, in the past couple months, so I don't think it's a force the free to get paid accounts. I've read articles that the Chinese and/or Russian hackers have stepped up their game on the U.S. I do agree that there has to be something that they can do to combat it and I hope it's soon because this is well beyond the numbers I've ever received before on any email account I've had in the past.
MS this is just plain stupid!! as i do..i get something scam in a mail i mark it as junk but then it might take 1 minute or 1 week and same MF mail adress and mail is in my inbox...so maybe its time you take a descision either you help us users get rid off all this **** **** spam and scam mail OR you will loose a ton off people on hotmail..so im looking forward hearing from a tech support on MS in this thread telling us how we can fix this if NOT i will migrate EVERY mail i have on hotmail too a gmail or something like that or maybe a pure chinese mail account because everything is better then we get a ton off spam each freaking day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too have had my Hotmail address for 10 years or longer but just the past year I have been over whelmed by spam! is it coincidentally it was when MS wanted users of the free Hotmail to upgrade to a pay system... I THINK NOT!!!!!
I am moving my email to another host..
