My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Agreed, it's like whack-a-mole blocking each email. There are no two emails from the same sender, it looks like they're all from a throwaway email address (for example, this is an actual address one was sent from: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Is there a way to train the spam filter to filter these ridiculously obvious spam email addresses?

It’s amazing, while MIcrosoft makes a big deal of their AI capabilities they cannot even stop industrial-scale spam. I get between 50-100 per day. I m writing to Satya now!!

I'm pissed because it came about when you guys started asking for money. And I can't use my account unless I pay!! What a rort - never got any warning just all of a sudden can't send or receive emails so of course I have to pay so at the very lease I can change my email account for all my contacts. Paid my $100+ and still getting 100 spam every day!!! You guys are the scam - I've had my email for over 20 years and never had a problem. Where can I complain? I would say you guys have pretty much stole $100 from me because of course I had no other option- bills and everything come to my email and I'd get a bed credit rating if I'm not paying bills because I'm not receiving them. So unhappy

Many advisors here copy/paste the same replies (to similar problems or questions) regardless of the fact they won't work. If spammers are targeting you, there is little you can do to stop them. Effective spam filter may help to cut down the spam volume but in many cases spammers beat spam filter. The bottom line is when spammers get a hold of your email address, that account is doomed. I still see the same spam sent to non existent addresses (deleted 20+ years ago) hitting the mail servers (in the SMTP logs).

Blocking doesn't help, they just send from another address - reporting phishing also doesn't stop it. During a spam attack for several days, hundreds come into the Inbox - is there a way of keeping them out that doesn't involve listing each one?
